nonammablesolvent.

10.Rinseanddrythefoamelementthoroughly.
11.Dipthefoamelementincleanengineoil,thensqueeze
outtheexcessoil.
Note:Excessoilinthefoamelementrestrictstheair
owthroughtheelementandmayreachthepaper
lterandclogit.
12.Wipedirtfromthebaseandthecoverwithamoistrag.
Note:Becarefultopreventdirtanddebrisfrom
enteringtheairductleadingtothecarburetor.
13.Installtheaircleanerelementsandensurethattheyare
properlypositioned.
14.Securelyinstallthecoverwiththe2nuts.
ChangingtheEngineOil
ServiceInterval:Aftertherst5hours—Changetheengine
oil.
Every50hours—Changetheengineoil.
1.Runtheenginetowarmtheengineoil.
Note:Warmoilowsbetterandcarriesmore
contaminants.
WARNING
Oilmaybehotafterenginehasbeenrun,and
contactwithhotoilcancauseseverepersonal
injury.
Avoidcontactingthehotengineoilwhenyou
drainit.
2.Stoptheengineandwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
3.Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplug.
4.Placeasuitabledrainpanunderthedipstick/oildrain.
5.Cleanaroundthedipstick.
6.Removethedipstickbyrotatingthecap
counterclockwiseandpullingitout.
7.Raisetheleftsideofthemowertodraintheoilfrom
thedipsticklltubeintothedrainpan.
8.Afterdrainingtheoil,returnthemowertoitsoperating
position.
9.Fillthecrankcasetotheupperlimitmarkonthe
dipstickwithfreshoil.RefertotheFillingthe
CrankcasewithOil.
10.Insertthedipstickintothellerneckandrotatethecap
clockwiseuntilitistight.
11.Wipeupanyspilledoil.
12.Recycletheusedoilaccordingtolocalcodes.
ServicingtheSparkPlug
ServiceInterval:Every100hours—Inspect,clean,and
adjustthesparkplug;replaceitif
necessary.
Every250hours—Replacethesparkplug.
UseanNGKBPR5ESorNippondensoW16EPR-Uspark
plugorequivalent.
1.Stoptheengineandwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
2.Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplug.
3.Cleanaroundthesparkplug.
4.Removethesparkplugfromthecylinderhead.
Important:Replaceacracked,fouled,ordirty
sparkplug.Donotcleantheelectrodesbecause
gritenteringthecylindercandamagetheengine.
5.Setthegapontheplugto0.030in.(0.76mm)

6.Carefullyinstallthesparkplugbyhand(toavoidcross
threading)untilitishandtight.
7.Tightenthesparkpluganadditional1/2turnifitis
new;otherwise,tightenitanadditional1/8to1/4turn.
Important:Aloosesparkplugcanbecomevery
hotandcandamagetheengine;overtighteninga
sparkplugmaydamagethethreadsinthecylinder
head.
8.Connectthewiretothesparkplug.
