RemovingtheHydraulicPump
CAUTION
Beforeopeningthehydraulicsystem,operateallthehydraulic
controlstoreleasesystempressureandavoidinjuryfromthe
pressurizedhydraulicuid;refertoReleasingPressurefromthe
HydraulicSystem(page5–6).
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,settheparkingbrake,lowerthecutting
deck(orimplement),shutofftheengine,andremovethekeyfromthekey
switch.
2.Removetheoperatorseat;refertoRemovingtheOperatorSeat(page7–20).
3.Removethefueltank;refertoRemovingtheFuelT ank(page4–16).
4.ReadtheGeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheHydraulic
SystemComponents(page5–77).
5.Cleanthehydraulicpump,frontaxle,andallhydraulicconnectionstoprevent
hydraulicsystemcontamination.
6.Forassemblypurposes,labelallthehydraulicconnections.
7.Disconnectthehosesandtubesfromthettingsonthehydraulicpump.
Allowthehydrauliclinestodrainintoasuitablecontainer.
8.Installcleancapsorplugsontheopeningsofpumpanddisconnectedlines
topreventcontamination.
9.Removethehydraulicpumpdriveshaft;refertoHydraulicPumpDriveshaft
(MachineSerialNumberabove316000000)(page5–97).
10.Removethecotterpinandatwasherthatretainthetractionrodendto
thepumplever,andremovethetractionrodfromthelever.Disconnectthe
wireharnesselectricalconnectorfromthetractionneutralsensor;referto
TractionNeutralArmAssembly(MachineSerialNumberabove316000000)
(page5–105).
11.Removethe2ange-headscrews(item3inFigure87),2washers,and2
angenutsthatsecurethehydraulicpumptothepumpbracket.
IMPORTANT
Ensurethatyoudonotdamagethemachinecomponentswhile
removingthehydraulicpump.
12.Carefullyremovethehydraulicpumpfromthemachine.
13.Ifnecessary,removethehydraulicttingsfromthepump.Notethe
orientationofthettingsforassemblypurposes.
14.RemoveanddiscardalltheO-ringsfromthehydraulichoses,tubes,and
ttingsthatwereremoved.
InstallingtheHydraulicPump
1.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromthepump,lubricateandinstallnew
O-ringstothettings.Installthettingsintothepumps;refertoInstallingthe
HydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThreadO-RingFittingintotheComponent
Port)(page5–11).
