Mismatch
Ifthereismismatchbetweentheblades,onasingle
cuttingunit,thegrasswillappearstreakedwhenitis
cut.Thisproblemcanbecorrectedbymakingsure
thatthebladesarestraightandallofthebladesare
cuttingonthesameplane.
1.Usinga1meter(3foot)longcarpenterslevel,
ndalevelsurfaceontheshopoor.
2.Raisetheheight-of-cuttothehighestposition;
refertoAdjustingtheHeight-Of-Cut.
3.Lowerthecuttingunitontotheatsurface.
Removethecoversfromthetopofthecutting
unit.
4.Loosentheangenutsecuringtheidlerpulley
toreleasethebelttension.
5.Rotatethebladesuntiltheendsfaceforward
andbackward.Measurefromtheoortothe
fronttipofthecuttingedge.Rememberthis
dimension.Thenrotatethesamebladesothat
theoppositeendisforward,andmeasureagain.
Thedifferencebetweenthedimensionsmust
notexceed3mm(1/8inch).Ifthedimension
exceeds3mm(1/8inch),replacetheblade
becauseitisbent.Makesuretomeasureallof
theblades.
6.Comparethemeasurementsoftheouterblades
withthecenterblade.Thecenterblademustnot
bemorethan10mm(3/8inch)lowerthanthe
outerblades.Ifthecenterbladeismorethan
10mm(3/8inch)lowerthantheouterblades,
proceedtostep7andaddshimsbetweenthe
spindlehousingandthebottomofthecutting
unit.
7.Removethebolts,atwashers,lockwashers,
andnutsfromtheouterspindleinthearea
wheretheshimsmustbeadded.Toraiseor
lowertheblade,addashim,PartNo.3256-24,
betweenthespindlehousingandthebottomof
thecuttingunit.Continuetocheckthealignment
ofthebladesandaddshimsuntilthetipsofthe
bladesarewithintherequireddimension.
Important:Donotusemorethanthree
shimsatanyoneholelocation.Use
decreasingnumbersofshimsinadjacent
holesifmorethanoneshimisaddedtoany
oneholelocation.
8.Adjusttheidlerpulleyandinstallthebeltcovers.
