Thethrottlelever(Figure5)controlsthespeedoftheengine.
MovingthethrottleleverforwardtowardtheFastposition
increasestheenginespeed.Movingitrearwardtowardthe
Slowpositiondecreasestheenginespeed.Thethrottle
controlsthespeedofthebladesand,inconjunctionwiththe
tractionpedal,controlsgroundspeedofthemachine.Always
runthemachinewiththethrottleintheFastpositionwhen
cuttinggrass.
PowerTakeOff(PTO)Switch
Thepowertakeoff(PTO)switchstartsandstopsthemower
blades(Figure5).
HourMeter
Thehourmeter(Figure5)recordsthenumberofhoursthe
enginehasoperated.Itoperateswhenthekeyswitchisin
theRunposition.Usethesetimesforschedulingregular
maintenance.
DifferentialLockSwitch
Pressthefrontoftheswitchandholditdowntoengagethe
differentiallock(Figure5).
GlowPlugLight(OrangeLight)
Theglowplugindicatorlight(Figure5)turnsonwhenthe
ignitionswitchisturnedtotheOnposition.Itremainslit
for6seconds.Whenthelightturnsoff,theengineisready
tobestarted.
EngineCoolantTemperatureWarning
Light
Thislightglowsandtheattachmentstopsiftheengine
coolanttemperatureishigh(
Figure5).Ifthemachineisnot
stoppedandthecoolanttemperaturerisesanother20°F,the
enginewillstop.
Important:Iftheattachmentshutsdownandthe
temperaturewarninglightison,pushPTOknobdown,
drivetoasafeatarea,movethethrottlelevertothe
Slowposition,allowthetractionpedaltomovetothe
neutralposition,andengagetheparkingbrake.Allow
theenginetoidleforseveralminuteswhileitcoolstoa
safelevel.Stoptheengineandcheckthecoolingsystem;
refertoCheckingtheCoolingSystem.
ChargeIndicator
Illuminateswhenthechargingsystemcircuitmalfunctions
(Figure5).
OilPressureWarningLight
Theoilpressurewarninglight(Figure5)glowswhentheoil
pressureinenginedropsbelowasafelevel.Iflowoilpressure
everoccurs,stoptheengineanddeterminethecause.Repair
thedamagebeforestartingtheengineagain.
FuelGauge
Thefuelgauge(Figure6)indicatesthefuellevelremaining
inthefueltank.
