Why won't my Toro Snowthrower engine start?
    • E
      edwardgravesAug 11, 2025
Several factors can prevent your Toro Snowthrower's engine from starting. Ensure the key is in the ignition and in the On position. Check that the choke is in the On position and the primer has been pressed 3 times. The fuel tank may be empty or contain stale fuel; drain and refill with fresh gasoline (not more than 30 days old). Also, verify the spark plug wire is securely connected to the spark plug. Finally, inspect the spark plug for pitting, fouling, or incorrect gap, and adjust or replace it as needed.

What to do if my Toro Snowthrower runs but doesn't discharge snow properly?
    • J
      Jason EllisAug 17, 2025
If your Toro Snowthrower runs but isn't discharging snow well, consider these points: shift the snowthrower into a lower gear, reduce the amount of snow you're trying to remove per swath, and avoid overloading the snowthrower with extremely heavy or wet snow. If the discharge chute is plugged, refer to Unclogging the Discharge Chute on page 13. For issues with the auger/impeller drive belt being loose, off the pulley, worn, or broken, refer to www.Toro.com for servicing information or take the snowthrower to an Authorized Service Dealer.

      Sara GardnerAug 23, 2025
If your Toro Snowthrower engine is running rough, first ensure the choke is in the Off position. Next, check the fuel tank; if it's nearly empty or contains stale fuel, drain it and fill it with fresh gasoline (not more than 30 days old). Also, make sure the spark plug wire is securely connected. Lastly, inspect the spark plug for pitting, fouling, or an incorrect gap, and adjust or replace it as necessary.

Why is my Toro Snowthrower not clearing snow off the surface properly?
    • D
      David LongAug 29, 2025
If your Toro Snowthrower isn't clearing snow effectively, it might be due to the skids and/or scraper not being properly adjusted; adjust them accordingly. Also, check the tire pressure and adjust if it's uneven.

If the electric starter on your Toro Snowthrower isn't turning, first check that the power cord is properly connected to both the outlet and the snowthrower.
