If the PTO (cutter deck) belt on your Toro Lawn Mower comes off, slips, or fails, adjust and tighten the belt guide if it is loose or incorrectly adjusted. Always operate engine powered attachments at full throttle. Engage PTO only in shorter or previously cut grass. Reduce ground speed when mulching or bagging. Cut tall grass and weeds with mower in its highest position, making a second pass cutting at height desired. Clean cutter deck. Reduce ground speed.

Why Toro Lawn Mower starter does not crank?
    • M
      melissaschultzAug 23, 2025
The starter may not crank on your Toro Lawn Mower for several reasons. Ensure the PTO is OFF, the parking brake is set, and you are seated. Check for corroded or loose electrical connections and blown or loose fuses. If these steps don't resolve the issue, there may be a defective relay or switch, a discharged battery, a malfunctioning safety interlock system, a faulty starter or starter solenoid, or seized internal engine components.
