RemovingtheSparkPlug
1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotioncontrollevers
totheneutrallockedpositionandsettheparking
brake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Pullthewire(s)offthesparkplug(s)(Figure39).
Nowcleanaroundthesparkplug(s)topreventdirt
fromfallingintotheengineandpotentiallycausing
damage.
4.Removethesparkplug(s)andmetalwasher.

1.Lookatthecenterofthesparkplug(s)(Figure40).
Ifyouseelightbrownorgrayontheinsulator,the
engineisoperatingproperly.Ablackcoatingonthe
insulatorusuallymeanstheaircleanerisdirty.
Important:Nevercleanthesparkplug(s).
Alwaysreplacethesparkplug(s)whenithas:a
blackcoating,wornelectrodes,anoilylm,or
cracks.
