Important: Bef or e r einstalling new
filter s, appl y a thin coat of oil on the surf ace
of the filter s r ub ber seal.
6. Install the new filters cloc kwise until r ubber
seal contacts the filter adapter and then tighten
the filter an additional 3/4 to 1 full tur n.
7. R emo v e the v ent plug on eac h transmission
and fill through the h y draulic tank, when oil
comes out of v ent reinstall plug . T or que the
plugs to 180 in-lb (244 N ⋅ m).
8. Add oil until it reac hes the cold line on the
h y draulic tank ( Figure 49 ).
9. Raise the rear of mac hine up just enough
to allo w the dri v e wheels to tur n freely and
suppor t it with jac k stands .
10. Star t the engine and mo v e the throttle control
ahead to the 1/2 throttle position. Diseng ag e
the parking brak e .
11. With the b ypass v alv e open and the engine
r unning, slo wly mo v e the directional control in
both forw ard and rev erse 5 or 6 times .
12. With the b ypass v alv e closed and the engine
r unning, slo wly mo v e the directional control
in both forw ard and rev erse directions 5 to 6
times . Stop the engine and c hec k the oil lev el,
and add oil as required to the hot line .
13. R e peat items 11 and 12 as necessar y until all
the air is completely purg ed from the system.
W hen the transaxle operates at nor mal noise
lev els and mo v es smoothly forw ard and rev erse
at nor mal speeds , then the transaxle is purg ed.
Important: Do not change h y draulic
system oil (ex cept f or what can be drained
when changing filter), unless it is felt the oil
has been contaminated or been extr emel y
hot. Changing the oil unnecessaril y
could dama ge the h y draulic system by
intr oducing contaminates into the system.

2. Diseng ag e the PTO , mo v e the motion control
lev ers to the neutral loc k ed position and set
the parking brak e .
3. Stop the engine , remo v e the k ey , and w ait for
all mo ving par ts to stop before lea ving the
operating position.
4. Chec k tire pressure of the rear tires . If needed,
adjust to 13 psi (90 kP a)
