compar tment, if not r emo v ed, could be
ignited by a hot engine. A fir e in the
engine compar tment could can bur n y ou
and other s and can dama ge pr oper ty .
• Bef or e using and while the engine is
cool, check f or de bris in the engine
compar tment.
• K eep the machine fr ee of g rass,
lea v es, or other de bris build-up .
• Clean up oil or fuel spilla ge and fuel
soak ed de bris.
• Allo w the machine to cool bef or e
storing .
Clearing the Collection Chute
Note: T o a v oid plug ging the collection system,
mo w the g rass at a high height of cut, then lo w er
the mo w er to y our nor mal cutting height and
re peat the collection process .
R emo v e the collection c hute and tap it on the
g round to remo v e any plug g ed clippings or debris .
At this time , visually inspect the c hute to v erify it
is clear and for any damag e . If necessar y , man ually
remo v e any obstr uctions from the c hute .
Installing the Collection Chute
1. Line the k ey in the c hute with the k eyw a y in
the frame
A. Gently mo v e the c hute into the mac hine
until the first bend.
B . R otate the c hute a quar ter tur n do wnw ard
and contin ue installing the c hute until the
second bend.
C . R otate the c hute a quar ter tur n counter
cloc kwise and contin ue to install the c hute .
D . Look o v er the engine hood, and into the
inter nal mac hine . Align the k ey in the c hute
with the peg on the dec k adapter .
E. Slide the c hute o v er the dec k adapter until
the c hute seats in the mac hine frame .
