1.Preparetheframeandsecureanyfuellinesorwireharnesscomponents.
2.Installthemuferandnewexhaustgaskets.T orquethemufermounting
boltsornutsto16-19N•m(13ft-lb).
3.Installtheoildrainhoseassembly.T orqueoildrainhose(atengineblock)
to31-40N•m(26±3ft-lb).
4.Lowertheengineontotheframe.
5.Alignthefourholesoftheenginebasetotheframe.Installthe2rear
mountingboltsandBellevillewashersloosely.
6.Attachthefront2boltsandBellevillewashersthroughtheclutchanchorand
intotheengineblock.
7.Torquethe4enginemountingboltsto36-45N•m(30±3ft-lb).
8.Installthekeyandenginepulleyontothecrankshaft.
Note:Installtheenginepulleywithsmallerdiameterhubtowardtheengine.
9.Installtheclutchontothecrankshaftensuringthattheslotintheclutchaligns
withthetabontheclutchanchor.
10.Installthe2springwashersandtheclutchbolt.T orquetheclutchboltto
66-83N•m(55±6ft-lb).
11.Installthehydrostaticdrivebelt.HydrostaticDriveBeltReplacement(page

12.Installthemowerbelt.MowerBeltReplacement(page6–6)
13.Connecttheclutchwiretotheclutch.
14.Connectthechokecable.ChokeControlAssemblyReplacement(page

16.Connecttheblackenginewire.
17.Connectthered(B+)wirefromstarter.T orquenutonstarterrelayto3-4
N•m(32±3in-lb).
18.Connectthechassiswireharnesstothemainenginewireharness.
19.Connectthefuelsupplylinetothefuellter.
20.Installtheengineguard.
21.Openthefuelsupplyvalve.
22.Fillcrankcasewithapprovedoilandverifyproperoillevel.
23.Connectthebatterybyinstallingthepositivecablerst,thenthenegative
cabletothebattery.
24.Verifyproperfunctionoftheunit.VerifyengineRPMissetto3750±50RPM.
