Toensurepropercooling,ensurethatthegrass
screen,coolingns,andotherexternalsurfacesofthe
enginearekeptcleanatalltimes.
Important:Operatingtheenginewithablocked
grassscreen,dirtyorpluggedcoolingns,and/or
coolingshroudsremoved,willcauseengine
damageduetooverheating.
CleaningtheEngineScreen
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily—Clean
theenginescreen,engine-oilcooler,
andtheareaaroundtheengine.
Beforeeachuseordaily—Cleanaroundthe
engine-exhaustsystem.
Beforeeachuseremoveanybuildupofgrass,dirt,
orotherdebrisfromtheenginescreen,engine
exhaust,engine-oilcooler,andtheareaaroundthe
engine.Thishelpsensureadequatecoolingand
correctenginespeedandreducesthepossibilityof
overheatingandmechanicaldamagetotheengine.
CleaningtheCooling
System
ServiceInterval:Every400hours—Checkand
cleantheenginecoolingnsand
shrouds(moreoftenindirtyordusty
conditions).
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
thePTO,andengagetheparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Removetheair-intakescreenandfanhousing.
4.Cleanthedebrisandgrassfromtheengine
parts.
5.Installtheair-intakescreenandthefanhousing.
