Note:IfthechokeleverissettotheCLOSEDpositionto
starttheengine,graduallymoveittowardtheOPENposition
astheenginewarmsup.Iftheenginestallsorhesitates,move
thechokelevertowardtheCLOSEDpositionuntiltheengine
runssmooth.Allowtheenginetowarmup,thenmovethe
chokelevertotheOPENposition.
ShuttingOfftheEngine
1.MovethethrottlelevertotheSLOW(turtle)position
(Figure36).
2.Turnthecowl-mountedengineswitchtotheOFF
position(Figure35).
3.MovethefuelvalvetotheOFFposition(Figure36)and
rotatetheengineOn/OffswitchtotheOFFposition.
Important:Ifyouneedtoshutofftheengine
immediately,usetheengineswitchlocatedonthe
outsideoftheenginecowl(Figure35).
UsingtheMachine

Stayintheoperator’spositionwhilethemachine
isrunning.
Keepallbystandersasafedistancefromthe
machine.
Shutoffthemachineimmediatelyifanypeople
oranimalsentertheworkarea.
Neverplaceanypartofyourbodyintoaposition
thatcausesanunsafeoperatingcondition.
1.Ensurethatthemachineisonlevelgroundandthe
surroundingareaisclearofobstacles.Disconnectthe
machinefromthetowvehicleandsecurethemachine
frommovement.
2.ReadalltherecommendationsfromSafeOperating
Practices(page4)beforeusingthemachine.
3.Starttheengineandclosetheenginecowl.Allow
theenginetowarmupatidlefor2minutes;referto
StartingtheEngine(page24).
4.Usethehandwheeltomovethedrumintoanupright,
slightlytiltedpositiontoallowaccessforpouring
materialsintothedrum.
Note:Thispositionalsoallowsthemixingpaddlesto
mixthematerialsmoreeffectively.
5.Pushthedrum-tiltbrakedowntolockthedruminto
positionandavoidaccidentallydumpingthematerial.
Important:Ifyouneedtoshutoffthemachine,use
theengineswitchlocatedonthecowl;refertoShutting
OfftheEngine(page25).
