Thetractionsystemisself-bleeding,however,itmaybe

1.DisengagethePTOandsettheparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengineandwaitforallmovingpartsto
stopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Raisetherearofthemachineontojackstandshigh
enoughtoraisethedrivewheelsofftheground.
4.Starttheengineandmovethethrottlecontroltothe
idleposition.
Note:Ifthedrivewheeldoesnotrotate,itispossible
toassistthepurgingofthesystembycarefullyrotating
thetireintheforwarddirection.
5.Checkthehydraulicuidlevelasitdrops,andadduid
asrequiredtomaintaintheproperlevel.

ServicingtheCuttingBlades
Toensureasuperiorqualityofcut,keepthebladessharp.
Forconvenientsharpeningandreplacement,youmaywant
tokeepextrabladesonhand.
WARNING
Awornordamagedbladecanbreak,andapiece
ofthebladecouldbethrownatyouorbystanders,
resultinginseriouspersonalinjuryordeath.
•Inspectthebladesperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
•Replaceawornordamagedblade.
BeforeInspectingorServicingthe
Blades
Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengagethebladesand
settheparkingbrake.TurntheignitionkeytoOFF.Remove
thekey,anddisconnectthesparkplugwiresfromthespark
plugs.
InspectingtheBlades
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Inspectthecuttingedges(Figure71).
2.Iftheedgesarenotsharporhavenicks,removeand
sharpentheblade;refertoSharpeningtheBlades(page
49).
3.Inspecttheblades,especiallyinthecurvedarea.
4.Ifyounoticeanycracks,wear,oraslotforminginthis
area,immediatelyinstallanewblade(Figure71).
