The device described in this manual is a Toro Groundsmaster® 3300, 3310, and 3200 2-Wheel or All-Wheel Drive Traction Unit. This is a ride-on, multi-purpose machine primarily designed for professional, hired operators in commercial applications, specifically for maintaining grass on well-maintained lawns in parks, sports fields, and commercial grounds. It is capable of amputating hands and feet and throwing objects, emphasizing the need to follow all safety instructions.
Function Description:
The traction unit serves as the base for various attachments (e.g., cutting units, flail mowers, snowthrowers, blades, rotary brooms) to perform different tasks. It features a hydraulic system for lifting and lowering attachments and transferring weight, a PTO (Power Take-Off) for driving attachments, and a traction pedal for forward and reverse movement. The machine is equipped with a display screen that provides operating status, diagnostics, and other information. Models 31900 and 31901 comply with European directives (EN ISO 5395) and ANSI B71.4-2017, while Models 31907 and 31909 comply with ANSI B71.4-2017.

Usage Features:
- Operator Controls: Key switch (OFF, ON/PREHEAT, START), throttle control (adjusts engine speed), glow-plug switch (cold starts), attachment lift switch (raises/lowers attachments), PTO switch (engages/disengages PTO), display screen button (toggles screens, accesses menus).
- Traction Pedal: Controls forward and reverse movement; speed is proportionate to pedal press. Can be adjusted for operator comfort or to reduce maximum forward speed.
- Parking Brake: Engaged by pulling handle up, disengaged by pushing button and lowering handle. Machine shuts off if traction pedal is engaged while parking brake is not fully lowered.
- Tilt-Steering Lever: Allows adjustment of the steering wheel position for operator comfort.
- Cab Controls (if equipped): Windshield-wiper switch, fan-control knob, light switch, temperature-control knob, air-conditioning switch, recirculation vents.
- Roll Bar: Foldable roll bar for rollover protection. Must be kept in raised and locked position with seat belt worn for protection. Lowered only when absolutely necessary, without wearing the seat belt.
- Safety Interlock System: Prevents engine cranking/starting unless traction pedal is neutral and PTO switch is OFF. Shuts off engine if PTO is ON and operator leaves seat, or if traction pedal is pressed while operator is off seat, or if traction pedal is pressed with parking brake engaged.
- Weight Transfer Adjustment: Hydraulic pressure can be adjusted to transfer attachment weight to the traction unit, improving contour-tracking or traction.
- Towing: Can be towed at speeds below 4.8 kph (3 mph) for short distances after setting the traction pump to bypass hydraulic fluid. For longer distances, transport on a trailer.
