ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE
WARNING
Jump starting can be dangerous. To
avoid personal injury or damage to
electrical components in vehicle,
observe the following warnings:
Never jump start with a voltage source
greater than 15 volts D.C. This will
damage the electrical system.
Never attempt to jump start a discharged
battery that is frozen. It could rupture
or explode during jump starting.
Observe all battery warnings while jump
starting your vehicle.
Be sure your vehicle is not touching the
jump start vehicle.
Connecting cables to the wrong post
could result in personal injury and/or
damage to the electrical system.
FUSES (FIG. 31)
There is one (1) 30 amp and one (1) 10 amp fuse
in the vehicle's electrical system. The fuse box is
located under the operators seat. (See FIG. 32)
The 5 amp in-line fuse for the Neutral Engine
Speed Control feature, 10 amp in-line fuse for
the Headlights, and 2 amp in-line fuse for the Shift
Limiter are located under the Operator Seat.
CAUTION
Electrolyte gases are explosive and can
cause serious injury to eyes, lungs and
skin. Nausea may result if the gases are
inhaled.
Wear safety goggles and rubber gloves
when working with electrolyte or
battery.
Charge the Battery in a well ventilated
place so gases produced while charging
can dissipate.
Unplug charger from electrical outlet
before connecting to or disconnecting
charger leads from battery terminals.
Since the gases are explosive, keep
open flames and electrical spark away
from the battery; DO NOT SMOKE!

(+) battery terminals of the two batteries. The
positive posts may be identified by a "+" sign on
the top of the battery covers.
2. Connect one end of the other jumper cable to
the negative (-) terminal of the battery in the other
vehicle. The negative terminal has a "-" sign or
NEG on the battery cover. DO NOT connect the
other end of the jumper cable to the negative (-)
post of the discharged MULTI PRO
®
1250 battery.
Connect it to the engine. DO NOT connect the
jumper cable to the fuel system.
3. Start the engine of the vehicle providing the
jump start. Let it run for a few minutes, then start
the MULTI PRO
®
1250 engine.
4. Remove the negative (-) jumper cable first from
the MULTI PRO
®
1250 engine, then from the
battery in the other vehicle.
