•Useextensioncordsandreceptaclesasspeciedby
themanufacturerforallmachineswithelectric-starting
motors.
•Donotoperatethemachinewithoutwearingadequate
wintergarments.Avoidloose-ttingclothingthatcanget
caughtinmovingparts.Wearsubstantial,slip-resistant
footwearthatwillimprovefootingonslipperysurfaces.
•Alwayswearsafetyglassesoreyeprotectionduring
operationorwhileperforminganadjustmentorrepairto
protectyoureyesfromforeignobjectsthatthemachine
maythrow .
•Thoroughlyinspecttheareawhereyouwillusethe
machineandremovealldoormats,sleds,boards,wires,
andotherforeignobjects.
•Ifashield,safetydevice,ordecalisdamaged,illegible,or
lost,repairorreplaceitbeforebeginningoperation.Also,
tightenanyloosefasteners.

Youcanoperatethesnowthrowerwiththeself-propelfeature
engagedordisengaged(freewheeling).
Tofreewheel,slidethewheelsinwardandinserttheaxle
pinsthroughtheaxleholes,butnotthroughthewheelhubs
(Figure17).
