•Drainthefuelfromthefueltankandruntheenginetodryoutthefueltankand
thecarburetorattheendoftheseason.
•HaveanAuthorizedServiceDealerinspectandreplacethetractiondrivebeltand/or
theauger/impellerdrivebelt,ifnecessary.

adjustment,shutofftheengineandremovethekey.If
majorrepairsareeverneeded,contactanAuthorized
ServiceDealer.
•Checkallfastenersatfrequentintervalsforproper
tightnesstoensurethatthemachineisinsafeworking
condition.
•Maintainorreplacesafetyandinstructionlabels,as
necessary.
•Donotchangethegovernorsettingsontheengine.
•PurchaseonlygenuineTororeplacementpartsand
accessories.
PreparingforMaintenance
1.Movethemachinetoalevelsurface.
2.Shutofftheengineandwaitforallmovingpartsto
stop.
3.Disconnectthespark-plugwire.RefertoReplacing
theSparkPlug(page21).
CheckingtheEngine-OilLevel
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily—Checkthe
engine-oillevelandaddoilifnecessary.
1.Removethedipstick,wipeitclean,thenfullyinstall
thedipstick.
2.Removethedipstickandchecktheoillevel(Figure34).
IftheoillevelisbelowtheAddmarkonthedipstick,
addoil.RefertoChangingtheEngineOil(page20).
