Theengineincludesanoilpressureswitch.Whenoilpressureisbeinggenerated
(engineisrunning)theswitchisclosed.Ontetheredremotemachines,the
closedswitchprovidesapathtogroundforthehourmetercircuit.Onwireless
remotemachines,theclosedswitchprovidesapathtogroundforthehourmeter
circuitandisaninputfortheT oroElectronicController(TEC).TheTECbegins
tomonitortheconditionoftheoilpressureswitch3minutesaftertheengineis
started.Whentheoilpressuredropstoolow(switchcircuitopens),theengineis
allowedtorunforapproximately10secondsandisthenshutdown.
Theengineincludesapulsestylefuelpumpandafuelshut-offsolenoid.
Oscillatingcrankcasepressurecausesadiaphragminsidethepulsestylefuel
pumptopullfuelinonthepistondown-strokeandtopushitintocarburetor
onthepistonup-stroke.Twocheckvalvespreventfuelfromgoingbackward
throughpump.Thefuelshut-offsolenoidhasaspringloadedpinthatretracts
when12voltsisapplied,allowingfuelowtothecarburetormainjet.When
currentisremoved,thepinextendsblockingthefuelow.
