Traction Pump Neutral Adjustment
The machine must not “creep” when traction pedal is
released. If it does creep, an adjustment is required.
1. Park machine on a level surface and shut engine off.
Make sure transaxle is engaged in HI position. Depress
only the right brake pedal and engage the parking brake.
2. Jack up left side of machine until front tire is off the
s
hop floor. Support machine with jack stands to prevent
it from falling accidentally.
3. Loose locknut on traction adjustment cam (Fig. 22
or 23
).
Engine must be running so final adjustment
of traction adjustment cam can be performed.
To guard against possible personal injury,
keep hands, feet, face and other parts of body
away from rotating parts.
CAUTION
4. Start engine and run at low idle.
5. Rotate cam hex in either direction until raised wheel
is no
t rotating.
6. Tighten locknut to secure adjustment.
7. Stop the engine. Remove jack stands and lower
mach
ine to ground. Release parking brake and test
drive machine to make sure it does not creep in neutral.
