Regularcleaningandwashingincreasesthelifespan
ofthemachine.Cleanthemachinedirectlyafteruse,
beforethedirthardens.
Beforecleaning,checkthatthefuel-tankcapis
properlyinplacetoavoidgettingwaterinthetank.
Usecarewhenusingahigh-pressuresprayer,
becauseitcandamagewarningdecals,instruction
signs,andtheengine
Important:Lubricatethecuttingwheelbearings
aftercleaning.
Storage
Forstorageover30days,preparethemachineas
follows:
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandengage
theparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengineandwaitforallmovingparts
tostop.
3.Removedirtandgrimefromtheexternalparts
oftheentireunit,especiallytheengine.Clean
dirtandsawdustchipsfromtheoutsideofthe
enginecylinderheadnsandblowerhousing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewith
milddetergentandwater.
4.Forstorageover30days,preparethemachine
asfollows:
A.Addfuelstabilizer/conditionertofreshfuel
inthetank.Followthemixinginstructions
fromthestabilizermanufacturer.Donot
useanalcohol-basedstabilizer(ethanolor
methanol).
B.Runtheenginetodistributeconditionedfuel
throughthefuelsystemfor5minutes.
C.Shutofftheengine,allowittocool,and
drainthefueltankusingapumptype
syphon.
D.Starttheengineandrunituntilitshutsoff.
E.Engagethechoke.
F.Startandruntheengineuntilitdoesnot
startagain.
G.Disposeoffuelproperly.Recycleasper
localcodes.
Important:Donotstorefuelcontaining
stabilizer/conditionerlongerthanthe
durationrecommendedbythefuel-stabilizer
manufacturer.
5.Cleanthesedimentcup;refertoCleaningthe
SedimentCup(page17).
6.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
Cleaner(page13).
7.Changetheengineoil;refertoChangingthe
EngineOil(page15).
8.Removethesparkplugandcheckthecondition;
refertoServicingtheSparkPlug(page16).
9.Withthesparkplugremovedfromtheengine,
pour2tablespoonsofengineoilintothespark
plughole.
10.Pullthestarterslowlytocranktheengineand
distributetheoilinsidethecylinder.
11.Installthesparkplug,butdonotinstallthewire
onthesparkplug.
