Thebladesmustbereplacedifasolidobjectishit,
ifthebladeisoutofbalance,orthebladeisbent.
Toensureoptimumperformanceandcontinued
safetyconformanceofthemachine,usegenuineToro
replacementblades.Replacementbladesmadebyother
manufacturersmayresultinnon-conformancewith
safetystandards.
Holdthebladeendusingaragorthickly-paddedglove.
Removethebladebolt,curvedwasher,bladestiffener,
andbladefromthespindleshaft(Figure36).

SharpeningtheBlades
1.Usealetosharpenthecuttingedgeatbothends
oftheblade(Figure37).Maintaintheoriginalangle.
Thebladeretainsitsbalanceifthesameamountof
materialisremovedfrombothcuttingedges.

bepointingupwardtowardtheinsideofthe
mowertoensurepropercutting.
2.Installthebladestiffener,thecurvedwasher(cupped
sidetowardtheblade)andthebladebolt(Figure36).
3.Torquethebladeboltto65-75ft-lb(88-101Nm).
LevelingtheMowerfrom
Side-to-Side
Themowerbladesmustbelevelfromsidetoside.
Checktheside-to-sidelevelanytimeyouinstallthe
mowerorwhenyouseeanunevencutonyourlawn.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengage
thebladecontrolswitch.
2.Movethemotioncontrolleverstothebrakeposition,
stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Checktheairpressureofallfourtires.Ifneeded,
adjusttotherecommendedination;referto
CheckingtheTirePressureinDriveSystem

4.Settheheight-of-cutlevertoposition3
[3inch(76mm)].
5.Carefullyrotatetheblade(s)sidetoside(Figure39).
Measurebetweentheoutsidecuttingedgesand
theatsurface(Figure39).Ifbothmeasurements
arenotwithin3/16inch(5mm),anadjustmentis
required;continuewiththisprocedure.
