ServiceInterval:Every100hours
Makesurethattheairgapbetweenthecenterand
sideelectrodesiscorrectbeforeinstallingthespark
plug.Useasparkplugwrenchforremovingand
installingthesparkplug(s)andagappingtool/feeler
gaugetocheckandadjusttheairgap.Installanew
sparkplug(s)ifnecessary.

AirGap:0.76mm(0.03inch)
RemovingtheSparkPlug
1.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
2.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),move
themotion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCK
position,andengagetheparkingbrake.
3.Removethehydraulic-unitshroudandthe2
boltsattachedtoit(Figure58).
Note:Thisgivesyouaccesstothefrontspark
plug.

Alwaysreplacethesparkplug(s)whenithas:a
blackcoating,wornelectrodes,anoilylm,or
cracks.
Ifyouseelightbrownorgrayontheinsulator,the
engineisoperatingproperly.Ablackcoatingonthe
insulatorusuallymeanstheaircleanerisdirty.
Setthegapto0.76mm(0.03inch).
