1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
theblade-controlswitch(PTO),andengagethe
parkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Removethemowerbelt;refertoReplacingthe
MowerBelt(page48).
4.Raisethemachineandsupportitwithjack
stands.
5.Usea1/2-inchratchetorbreakerbarinone
ofthesquareholesintheidlerarmtoremove
tensionontheidlerspring(Figure60).
6.Removetheexistingbeltfromtheidlerpulley,2
hydraulic-pump-drivepulleys,andenginepulley
(Figure60).
7.Installthenewbeltaroundtheidlerpulley,
enginepulley,and2hydraulic-pumppulleys
(Figure60).
8.Usingthe1/2-inchratchetorbreakerbarinone
ofthesquareholes,installtheidlerspring.
Note:Ensurethatthespringendsareseated
intheanchorgrooves.
9.Installthemowerbelt;refertoReplacingthe
MowerBelt(page48).
