In the following you will find a selection of the most important instructions for handling
of Torqueedo motors. Apart from these instructions, please observe the complete opera-
ting manual to prevent damage to or by your motor.
• Onlyrunthemotorwhenthepropellerisunderwater.Ifitisrunintheairforlonger
periods, the shaft sealant rings that seal the motor to the drive shaft may be damaged
and there is a risk of motor overheating.
• CruiseR/CruiseTmodelsareprotectedagainstdirtandwateraccordingtoprotection
protection rating IP 67 (30 minutes under water at a depth of 1 meter)
• Afteruse,alwaystakethemotoroutofthewater.Usethetiltmechanismtodoso.
• Afteroperationinsaltyorbrackishwater,rinseallcomponentswithfreshwater.
• Usecontactspraytocareforallelectroniccontactseverytwomonths.
• Youextendthelifespanofyourbatteryifyoudonotexposeittohotenvironmentsfor
longer than necessary.
• Complywiththefollowingrulesifyouarestoringyourbatteryforalongerperiodof
time. Storage for around six months: Charging level when stored 50%. Storage for a
whole year: Charging level when stored 100%. If the battery is to be stored for several
years the charging level should be checked once a year in order to prevent the battery
from deep discharging.
• Ifthemotorhasmalfunctionsanerrorcodeisshownonthedisplay.Afterresolving
the error the motor can be restarted again from the stop-position of the tiller. Depen-
ding on the error code displayed it may be necessary to switch the motor off using the
“on/off”buttononthetiller.Younddescriptionsanddetailsinthe“Errormessages/
trouble shooting“ chapter in this operating manual.
• Donotleavethemotorinthewaterwhentheboatismovedbyotherdrives(e.g.
while sailing, towing the boat) to prevent damage to the electronics.
• Whenleavingtheboatswitchmainswitchinto”OFF”positiontopreventaccidental
operation of motor and limit battery discharge during storage.
