Why does my Toshiba TV have a good picture but no sound?

  If your Toshiba TV has a good picture but no sound, check these items: First, increase the volume and ensure the sound isn't muted. Make sure headphones are not connected, as this will disable the TV speakers. If using a home theater system, sound bar, or external speakers, ensure they are powered on, not muted, and the correct output mode is selected. If connected with a digital optical cable, go to the Sound menu, highlight Digital Audio Format, then press ENTER. Highlight Audio Format, then press ENTER. Press S or T to select PCM, then press ENTER. Also, verify that the audio cables and antenna/cable TV are connected correctly and securely. Finally, the audio cables you are using may be faulty, so try a new set.
