During a udio/video playback, when the compute r detects a s hock or
vibration a nd the hard disk drive 's head is pa rke d, the pla yback might
be te mpora rily inte rrupte d.
HDD P rote ction ca nnot be us ed in mode ls that a re e quippe d with
SSD.
Whe n vibra tion is de te cte d, a notifica tion will be dis pla ye d on the s cre e n,
and the icon in the Ta s kba r will change to the prote ction s tate. This
me s s age is dis pla ye d until the OK button is press e d or 30 s e conds pass .
Whe n vibra tion subsides , the icon re turns to the normal s ta te .

You ca n cha nge HDD P rotection s e ttings .
To ope n the utility, click De s ktop -> De s kto p As s is t -> To o ls & Utilitie s -
> S ys te m S ettings -> HDD P ro tectio n . The utility ca n a ls o be s ta rte d from
the icon in the Ta s kba r or from the Co ntrol P a nel.
H DD P r o t e c t io n
You ca n enable or dis a ble HDD P rote ction by moving the s lide r to the right
or le ft.
HDD P rotection doe s not work whe n the compute r is booting, in S le e p
Mode , in Hiberna tion Mode, in tra ns ition to Hiberna tion Mode , re cove ring
from Hiberna tion Mode , or powe re d off. Do not s ubject the computer to
vibra tion or impact while the prote ction is dis a bled.

de te cte d.

Move the s lider to the right to show HDD P rote ction icon in the Ta s kba r.

disk drive he ad is in a s a fe position.
