This utility le ts you do the following:
Re gis te r or de le te the S upervis or P assword.
Spe cify re s trictions for ge ne ral us ers.
S t a r t in g t h e c o m p u t e r u s in g a p a s s w o rd
If you have a lre a dy re gis te red a us er pa ssword, the re is one wa y to s ta rt
the compute r:
Ente r the pa ssword ma nua lly.
The pa s s word is nece s sary only if the computer wa s s hut down in
Hibe rnation mode or boot mode . It is not ne ede d in Sleep mode a nd
Re s ta rt.
To e nte r a pa ssword ma nua lly, follow the s teps a s detailed below:
1. Turn on the powe r as described in the Ge tting S ta rte d s e ction. The
following me ssage will a ppe a r in the s cre en:
En te r P a s s wo rd =
At this point, the function keys do not work. The y will function a fte r you
ente r the pa ssword.
2. Ente r the P a s sword.
3. Press ENTER.
If you e nte r the pas s word incorre ctly three times in a row, or if you don’t
ente r the pa ssword within 1 minute , the compute r s huts off. In this ca s e ,
some features that ca n powe r on the compute r a utoma tically (Wake-up on
LAN, Ta sk S che dule r, e tc) may not work. You mus t turn the compute r back
on to re try pa ssword e ntry.

available through the Windows operating syste m.
To run TOS HIBA S ys tem S e ttings , click De s kto p -> De s kto p As s is t ->
Tools & Utilitie s -> S ys te m S e ttings .
The TOSHIBA S ystem Settings window conta ins a numbe r of ta bs to a llow
spe cific functions of the compute r to be configured.
In a ddition the re a re als o three buttons : OK, Cancel a nd Apply.
