to s e le ct whe the r to control this te mpe ra ture by
e ithe r turning on the fa n firs t, the n if ne ce s s ary
lowering the proce ssor s pe e d, or by lowe ring the
process or s pe e d firs t, then if nece s sary turning
on the fa n. Both of the se functions a re controlle d
through the P ower Options .
When the proce s s or's te mpe ra ture falls within
normal ra nge, the fan a nd the proce s s or
ope ra tion will re turn to its s ta nda rd s pe e d.
If the proce s s or's te mpe ra ture re a che s a n
una cce pta bly high le ve l with e ithe r setting, the
compute r a utoma tica lly s huts down to pre ve nt
a ny da ma ge. In this instance a ll unsaved da ta in
me mory will be los t.

The TOSHIBA P a ss word Utility provide s two le ve ls of pass word s e curity:
User a nd S upervisor.
Pas s words s e t by the TOS HIBA P a s s word Utility function a re diffe rent from
the Windows password.

User a uthe ntica tion may be re quired to valida te us e r rights when using
TOS HIBA P a s s word Utility to de le te or cha nge pa sswords, e tc.
Set (button)
Click this button to re gis te r a pa ssword. After a pa s s word is s et, you
will be prompte d to e nte r it when you s ta rt the compute r.
Afte r you s e t the pa ssword, a dialog box will be dis pla ye d asking
whe the r you wa nt to s a ve it to other media . If you forge t the pa s s word,
you ca n ope n the pass word file on a nothe r computer. Be sure to keep
the me dia in a s a fe pla ce .
