30 Information and Control Network TC-net 100 Optical Shared Hub Unit UTNH23A/B User’s Manual
Chapter 5 Operation
5
5.1 Check Before Operation
Before switching power on to operate the product, check the switch settings and wiring
once again that they are as specified in the Information and Control Network Module TC-
net 100 Installation and Wiring Manual (6F8C0942).
If you find anything wrong with them, correct them according to the documents
concerned.
(1) Checking the switch settings: Check the station address setting switches and
operation mode setting switches using the Engineering Tool.
(2) Installation check: Check by referring to the Information and Control Network Module
TC-net 100 Installation and Wiring Manual (6F8C0942).
(3) Wiring check: Check by referring to the Information and Control Network Module TC-
net 100 Installation and Wiring Manual (6F8C0942).
5.2 Start
The optical shared hub unit automatically starts operating when power is turned on.
There are no restrictions in particular on the order of switching on the optical shared hub
units for lines A and B. Remember, however, that it takes about 1 minute for collecting
information on the optical shared hub unit for line B after switching power on.
When the optical shared hub unit has started, check that it is operating normally, referring
to
Table 2-1 Status Indicating LEDs.
If the optical shared hub unit fails to start or operates abnormally, stop using it and
contact your nearest Toshiba service shop.
Note: Switch on the optical shared hub units before switching on the stations connected
to the hub. If only one of the connected stations is started before, it will be neces
-
sary for all the stations to be switched on again.
5.3 Stop
The optical shared hub stops operating when power is turned off.
The SNMP installed in the master optical shared hub unit for line A (UTNH23A) collects
all information on lines A and B, so if the UTNH23A is switched off, the SNMP will no
longer be able to monitor.
