Trouble shooting
Many problems have a simple cause and a correspon-
dingly simple solution. The following section describes a
few difficulties you may encounter, and the measures you
need to take to cure them.
If you find it impossible to solve a problem with the help of
these notes please disconnect the unit from the mains
and ask your authorised specialist dealer for advice.
Problem: Machine does not switch on (green
LED does not light up).
Cause 1:
Mains lead not plugged in correctly.
Remedy:
Check connection, push connector in
firmly.
Cause 2:
Mains fuse burned out.
Remedy:
Have the mains fuse in the mains input
socket replaced by an authorised specia-
list workshop. The rating of the replace-
ment fuse must agree with the specifica-
tion printed on the unit.
Problem: The unit does not respond to com-
mands.
Cause:
Static discharge or powerful interference
(e. g. lightning) have corrupted the pro-
cessor memory.
Remedy:
Disconnect mains plug, wait about
1 minute and re-connect. Switch unit on
again.
Problem: Machine responds correctly to manual
operation of the buttons, but does not
respond to remote control commands.
Cause 1:
Incorrectly inserted batteries or flat batte-
ries in the remote control handset.
Remedy:
Re-install batteries correctly or fit new
ones.
Cause 2:
Receiver incorrectly connected, or con-
nector not plugged correctly into RC
socket on unit.
Remedy:
Complete the connections as shown in the
wiring diagram. Push in connectors firmly.
Cause 3: F1 remote control handset not set to Hi-Fi
mode.
Remedy: Switch F1 to Hi-Fi mode by pressing the
rocker.
Cause 4:
Inefficient receiver position
Remedy:
Ensure direct line-of-sight contact between
remote control transmitter and receiver.
Note that glass doors may prevent the
system working properly. Maximum range
between transmitter and receiver approx.
8 metres.
Position the receiver in such a way that it
is not subjected to direct sunlight or strong
artificial lighting. Fluorescent and energy-
saving lamps are powerful sources of
interference.
Cause 5:
Remote control address of amplifier and
remote control transmitter do not agree.
Remedy:
Set remote control to Address 1 (see
remote control operating instructions).
If code converter is present:
Set remote control to address of con-
verter.
Problem: The machine does not respond to re-
mote control commands after you fit
new batteries in the remote control
handset.
(only if code converter is present)
Cause:
The remote control was set to remote
control address 2 before you changed
batteries. This setting is lost when you
change batteries.
Remedy:
Switch to remote control address 2 (see
remote control operating instructions).
Problem: The source devices connected to the
system does not respond to remote
control commands.
Cause 1:
The unit you are trying to control is not
selected as source device, i. e. the com-
mands from the remote control handset
are being passed to a different source
device.
Remedy:
Press the corresponding source button on
the remote control handset and try again.
Cause 2:
The source device is not connected via an
R
LINK

Remedy:
Complete the connection as shown in the
wiring diagram.

Poor contact between the Cinch plugs and
