Do not expose the equipment to rain
or damp. If water finds its way into the
equipment the risks of electric shock
increases.
3 - Personal safety
Pay attention to what you are doing,
with what happens near you while
you're working and always rely on
your common sense. Do not operate the
equipment when you are tired, distracted
or under the influence of drugs, alcoholic
beverages or medication. Any slip of
attention could result in serious injury.
Use personal safety equipment. Always
wear goggles. When you wear personal safety
equipment, i.e. goggles, gloves, shoes, anti-skid
boots and ear protection you increase the level
of safety and reduce hazards.
Prevent accidental operation. Make sure
that the on/off key is in the “off” position
before you plug the cord. Connecting the
equipment to the power source when it is
“on” can lead to serious accident.
Remove unwanted objects before you
turn on the equipment. A tool or any
object that might become attached to the
equipment's moving parts can cause injury.
Do not be over-confident. Keep both feet
on the ground for balance. This also helps
you to control the equipment more efficiently
during unexpected situations.
Dress accordingly. Do not wear loose
clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair and
clothes away from the moving parts to avoid
them from becoming entangled.
4 - Operation and safety measures
Don't twist the equipment. Use it
correctly and for the applications described
in this manual for improved performance
and safety while you are working.
Don't use the equipment if the switch
doesn't turn “on” and/or “off”. The
equipment can't be controlled if the switch
is damaged. A damaged power switch must
be immediately repaired.
Disconnect the plug from the power
source before you do any adjustments,
change the cutting blade and accessories.
This safety measure reduces the risk of
accidental operation.
When the equipment is not being used,
store it away from children's reach and
don't let anyone who is not familiar with
how it works to operate the equipment.
The equipment can be dangerous when
handled by inexperienced users.
Take good care of your equipment.
Always check if the blade is firmly
attached to the shaft, if there are any
damaged parts or any other problem that
could affect good-operation conditions. If
there are any problems, repair the equipment
before using it. Lack of proper maintenance is
the cause of many accidents.
Keep the cutting blade honed and clean
and the spool supplied with the nylon
filament and ready to be used. Never use
metal wire to replace the nylon filament.
The cutting blade and/or the spool
always keeps on moving after the
equipment has been turned off.
Remember this whenever you are doing
any kind of maintenance.
Use the equipment and accessories
according to the work and service
instructions that will be done. Using the
equipment for other purposes than those
included in this manual can be dangerous.
Note: According to the Brazilian standard NBR 5410,
it is compulsory to install a device to protect against
residual defferential current (DR device) in the electrical
installation. The function of the “DR” is to protect the
user against serious electrical shock risk (consult an
electrician).
Warning!
Using the equipment without the protection skirt
is considered loss of warranty.
5 - Services
Call qualified professionals to service
the equipment. Use original parts only.
Always call TRAPP Authorized Service
Technicians. TRAPP is not responsible for
occasional accidents caused by the use of
spare parts that are not original.
