PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
In order to assure safe performance of the X-ray generator, a periodic maintenance program must be
established. It is the owner’s responsibility to supply or arrange for this service.
Therearetwolevelsofmaintenance,therstconsistsoftaskswhichareperformedbytheuser/operator,and
thesecondarethosetaskstobeperformedbyqualiedX-rayservicepersonnel.
Therstperiodicmaintenanceserviceshouldbeperformedsix(6)monthsafterinstallationandthesubsequent
services at twelve (12) month intervals.
Themanufacturerundertakestohaveavailablesparepartsforthisequipmentatleastforve(5)yearsafter
the unit was manufactured.
5.1 OPERATOR TASKS
The tasks of this periodic maintenance shall include the following items:
DO NOT REMOVE ANY COVERS, DISASSEMBLE OR MANIPULATE
INTERNAL COMPONENTS IN THE UNIT. THESE ACTIONS COULD CAUSE
SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURIES AND / OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGE.
NEVER ATTEMPT TO CLEAN ANY PART OF THE UNIT WHEN IT
IS SWITCHED ON. ALWAYS SWITCH OFF THE EQUIPMENT AND
ISOLATE THE MAINS ELECTRICAL SUPPLY BEFORE CLEANING.
1. Switch the Control OFF.
2. Externally, check all cable and connections between each major component in the X-ray system
(Power Cabinet, Console, high Voltage Generator, etc.).
3. Clean the equipment frequently, particularly if corroding chemicals are present. Clean external
coversandsurfaces,specicallypartsincontactwiththepatient,withacleanmoistenedinwarm
water with mild (non alkaloid) soap. Wipe with a cloth moistened with clean water. Do not use
cleaners or solvents of any kind.
5.2 SERVICE TASKS
OnlyservicepersonnelspecicallytrainedonthismedicalX-rayequipmentshouldworkonservicetasksor
maintenance of the equipment. (Refer to “Installation and Troubleshooting documents).
