Table 7: Correct way of setting the MNO profile
6.4 Global profile (+UMNOPROF: 90)
This is the default profile for the SARA-R422 / SARA-R422S / SARA-R422M8S modules, with all
supported bands set as enabled on all available RATs (LTE-M, NB-IoT, GSM).
6.5 Standard Europe (+UMNOPROF: 100)
The MNO profile 100 should be used as the basis for all other MNOs in Europe outside of ones explicitly
referred in other profiles. However, there may be changes that need to be applied to the module for
proper operation with any given MNO such as attach type, RAT preference, band selection, etc. Please
consult with the preferred network provider.
If the device is attaching to a network operator (even outside of Europe) that is not listed in the MNO
profile list, MNO profile 100 should be used as a generic and configurable profile.
Also, it is recommended to use this profile for mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) and/or roaming
SIMs.
6.6 GCF-PTCRB (+UMNOPROF: 201)
This MNO profile can be used during production or lab tests. With this profile, LwM2M is disabled.
6.7 SIM ICCID select profile (+UMNOPROF: 1)
It can be used by host applications that will use different SIM cards. In this setting the Mobile Network
Operator profile is selected according to the SIM Issuer Identifier Number (IIN), whose ranges are
predefined for each MNO profile.
If the IIN selection algorithm cannot find a suitable MNO profile for the given SIM card, then the global
profile (+UMNOPROF: 90) is the selected as fallback.
A first reboot, triggered by the application, is necessary to activate the IIN automatic selection. A
second reboot, again triggered by the application, is required to have the detected MNO configuration
applied. See the SARA-R4 series AT commands manual [2] for details on the AT command and URC
syntax and reboot configurability.
