12 DISPOSAL
- Do not discard the pump, or any part of it, in the environment.
- Metal parts can be recycled as scrap.
- Greases and oils should be recovered, stored and disposed of through approved agencies in accordance with the regulations
in force in the country where the pump is being used.
- Elastomer gaskets must be kept separate and disposed f through an authorized waste disposal agency in accordance with the
law.
- The battery must be kept separate and disposed of through an authorized collection centre in accordance with the law.
Lastly, remember the Manufacturer will always be glad to help you with necessary assistance and/or spare parts.

13 TROUBLESHOOTING, CAUSES AND REMEDIES

Before commencing troubleshooting, make sure testing instruments (vacuum gauge, pressure gauge, revolution counter,

13.1 Pump does not prime
Delivery pipe under pressure
Bleed delivery pipe.
Pump speed low Only increase speed once you
have checked the contract data and
pump performance curves.
Impeller may be worn or broken Disassemble pump casing as
described in section 10.2 and check
impeller for wear
Cutwater (leading edge of the volute) may
be worn
Remove pump casing as described
in section 10.2. Build up the cutwater
with solder and shape it to restore

severely worn, replace the casing.
Suction strainer, where applicable, may be
clogged
Remove obstructions.
Excessive suction lift Reduce suction lift.
Air entering through seal Disassemble seal and clean it (see
sect. 10.4); if the problem persists,
replace the seal.
Impeller clogged by foreign matter Disassemble casing and remove
foreign matter
Slackening or breakage of the vacuum
pump drive belt
Restore belt tension and/or replace
if worn or broken
13.2 Pump does not deliver liquid Pump does not prime See causes given in point 13.1.
