Propylene glycol emergency overview

Eye
May cause slight transient (temporary) eye
irritation. Corneal injury is unlikely. Mists may cause
eye irritation.
Flush eyes with plenty of water.
Skin contact
Prolonged contact is essentially non-irritating to
skin. A single prolonged exposure is not likely to
result in the material being absorbed through the
skin in harmful amounts. Repeated exposure may
cause fl aking and softening of skin.
Wash o under fl owing water or shower.
Ingestion
Single dose oral toxicity is considered to be
extremely low. No hazards anticipated from
swallowing small amounts incidental to normal
handling operations.
None required.
Inhalation
At room temperature, vapors are minimal due to
physical properties. Mists may cause irritation of
upper respiratory tract (nose and throat).
Remove to fresh air if e ects occur, consult a
physician.
Note to physician: No specifi c antidote. Supportive
care. Treatment based on judgement of the
physician in response to the reaction of the patient.
