Usage Features
The popcorn machine is designed for ease of use with specific steps for operation:
- Pre-operation Check: Ensure the machine is unplugged, verify voltage compatibility with the rating label, and clean internal/external surfaces.
- Assembly: For tabletop models, the kettle is assembled onto supporters in the main unit and connected to the socket. For cart models, a detailed assembly guide is provided for the cart components including rubber feet, support legs, support stands, wheels, horizontal supports, cabinet base, cabinet front with door, cabinet back, working platform, working platform brackets, and push handle. Various bolts, nuts, washers, a screwdriver, and wrenches are included for assembly.
- Function Switches: The main unit features three function switches:
- Switch I: Spot Light and Warmer (keeps popcorn warm, dry, and tasty).
- Switch II: Stirrer (activates the stirring mechanism in the kettle).
- Switch III: Stainless Steel Kettle Heater (heats the kettle for popping).
- Popping Process:
- Hook the kettle onto the main unit's hanger.
- Plug in the power cord.
- Switch on the light and heater (I & III).
- Fill the kettle with a suitable amount of butter or oil (max. 15g), pre-heating for 3-4 minutes until steam appears.
- Prepare kernels with sugar (liquid sugar and honey are prohibited).
- Open the lid (using an oven mitt due to heat) and pour in pre-mixed kernels and sugar.
- Switch on the stirrer (II) to begin stirring.
- Close the door carefully.
- Popcorn will start popping out through the lid after about 2 minutes.
- Once popping is complete (no more popping sound), switch off the stirrer & heater (II & III).
- Rotate the roller bar of the kettle to pour out all remaining popcorn.
- Keep the spot light and warmer on to maintain popcorn quality.
- Serve popcorn with the provided scoop.
- Unplug the machine if not in use for a long time.
- Steps 7-10 can be repeated for continuous popping.
Maintenance Features
Proper cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the popcorn machine:
- General Cleaning: Wipe doors, glass, and metal surfaces with a clean damp cloth. Avoid acidic, citrus-based, or abrasive cleaners on acrylic doors to prevent scratching or dullness.
- Catch Tray: Frequently empty the catch tray of unpopped kernels and clean it with soap and water, then dry thoroughly.
- Popcorn Kettle: Frequent cleaning of the popcorn kettle is strongly recommended to prevent burning of excess oils.
- Allow the unit to cool down before cleaning.
- Clean the kettle surface inside and out with a wet cloth.
- For thorough cleaning, turn off the unit, add 1.5 to 2 cups of hot water (no detergent) to the kettle.
- Place a towel at the bottom of the main unit and a large bowl or container on the towel to catch water.
- Turn on the Stirrer & Heater (II) and boil the water for 1-2 minutes.
- Turn off the stirrer and heater, then carefully pour the water from the kettle into the bowl/container.
- Repeat this procedure 2-3 times for best cleaning.
- CAUTION: Kettle and water will be HOT! Never immerse the kettle in water or place it in a dishwasher.
- Storage: If the machine will not be used for a long time, unplug, clean, cover, and store it in a dry and safe place.
- Safety Precautions:
- Always operate with handles or knobs, do not touch hot surfaces directly.
- Do not immerse the cord or plug into water or other liquids to prevent electrical shock.
- Keep children and minors away from the machine.
- Unplug the machine when not in use or before cleaning.
- Allow hot parts to cool before operation.
- Do not operate with damaged cords or plugs; seek authorized service for repair.
- Avoid using non-recommended accessories.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not pop kernels with a dry pot (without oil).
- Do not leave the power cord hanging over edges or touching hot surfaces.
- Do not place the unit on or near hot gas, electric burners, or heated ovens.
- Exercise extreme care when moving the unit with hot oil or liquids.
- Turn all switches to 'OFF' before disconnecting from the wall outlet.
- Use only for its intended purpose.
- Always add oil before kernels to prevent overheating.
- Exercise extreme care when unloading popcorn.
- Place the unit on a stable table to prevent burns from hot oil/water.
- Do not clean with abrasive materials.
- Never force parts or brackets into position.
- No parts are dishwasher safe.
- Do not leave a plugged-in popper unattended.
- The popper does not shut off automatically; add corn and oil before operating to avoid overheating.
- Turn the unit over a countertop to ensure residual hot oil or water runs out to prevent burns.
