Overview

The Videx Audio & Video Control Cabinets (models 2291A, 2291A4, 2291A8, 2291A12, 2291AB, 2291V, 2291V4, 2291V8, 2291V12 & 2291VB) are designed as multiple entrance control cabinets for audio and video intercom systems. These cabinets are available in two main sizes, CAB1 and CAB2, and are constructed from lockable, powder-coated steel. They are pre-wired internally, though external cabling and wiring to and from components will need to be made during installation.

Function Description:

The cabinets serve as the central control unit for multi-entrance intercom systems. They house essential components such as power supplies, a time clock, and switching cards, enabling communication and control across multiple door panels and apartments. Depending on the model, they can support audio-only or audio and video systems, with options for isolation and bus exchange for larger systems.

Key Features Include:

  • Cabinet Types: Available in CAB1 or CAB2 lockable, powder-coated steel cabinets, chosen based on the control equipment required.
  • Power Supply: Fitted with an unboxed 13.8Vdc, 5A switched-mode power supply (UBPSU5.0) with battery back-up facility. Video cabinets also include a 20Vdc Art.893N power supply.
  • Time Clock: Includes an Art.701T BST/GMT time clock for programmable ON/OFF times and automatic British Summer Time correction.
  • Switching Cards: Standard inclusion of a 4-entrance switching card (VX123-A for audio cabinets, VX123-V for video cabinets).
  • Isolation: Available with or without isolation, supporting 4-way, 8-way, and 12-way isolation. Video cabinets with isolation also include appropriate video isolation cards (Art.3161 4-way video isolation cards).
  • Bus Exchange Device: Models 2291AB and 2291VB are fitted with the Art.2206N bus exchange device for two-level systems or systems requiring expansion beyond 180 apartments.
