Checking the separation function of the relief valve
The separation function and the func-
tion of the outlet non-return valve must
be checked annually to EN 806, Part 5.
1. Close both shut-off valves.
2. Remove both pressure gauge plugs
A
.
3.
Fit maintenance ball valves B.
4.
Fit needle valves C of tester.
5. Fit differential pressure tester (provi-
ded on site) and open both shut-off
valves of the fill station.
6. Vent the valve assembly via the two
needle valves.
7. Close both shut-off valves on the fill
station
8. Open the upper needle valve and
release the pressure until a few
droplets appear.
9. Close the needle valve and observe
the drain outlet.
Note
The differential pressure must be above
140 mbar and the inlet non-return valve
(RV1) must fully close again.
If this is not the case, there is contami-
nation or a mechanical fault.
10. Open upper needle valve further
and relieve the pressure in the
central pressure zone until it is fully
drained.
Checking RV 2
Requirement: The central pressure
zone must be fully drained.
1. Open shut-off valve on the outlet
side.
If water drips from the drain outlet,
the outlet non-return valve is faulty
or dirty: Clean or replace the system
separator cartridge.
2. Close both maintenance ball valves
and remove the tester.
3. Refit the pressure gauge plugs.
