What to do if burner control unit enters a fault state in Viessmann VITOGAS 100-F?

If the burner control unit of your Viessmann Boiler enters a fault state, it could be due to a few reasons. One potential cause is no gas being available, possibly due to air in the supply line. You can try resetting it by switching the control unit ON/OFF. Another reason might be that the pilot burner won't start. In this case, you should check the ignition electrode and the gas supply. Finally, the ionisation current could be too low or there might be a cable break. Check the ionisation current, ensuring it's at least 3 µA when the main burner is operational, and inspect the pilot burner for any damage.
