Flue gas connection
The connecting pipe to the chimney should be as short as possi-
ble. Therefore, position the Vitopend as closely to the chimney as
possible. No special protective measures and clearances towards
combustible objects, e.g. f urniture, cartons or simila r, need to be
taken/observed.
Nowhere on the Vitopend, except on the flue pipe connection for
equipment type B (TRGI), does the surface temperature exceed
85 °C.
Maintain a clearance of at least 100 mm between the flue pipe
connection and combustible materials.
Flue gas monitor
The EC Gas Equipment Directive prescribes the installation of a
flue gas monitor for gas fired boilers between 7 and 50 kW, if the
boiler r oom is not sealed against other rooms of t he acco mmoda-
tion or utility area and is not provided with adequate ventilation.
Vitopend is equipped with an integral flue gas monitor and can
therefore be utilised independent of the use of the installation
room.
Extractors
When install ing devices with extraction to the outside (cooker
hoods, extractors, etc.), ensure that air extraction will not create
negative pressure inside the installation room.
Otherwise, flue gases could return into the room, if the extraction
equipment and Vitopend are operated simultaneously. In such
cases, install an interlocking circuit. For this, the internal exten-
sion H2 is available.
Operating Vitopend in wet areas
&
The Vitopend is approved for instal lation in wet areas (e.g. bath
or shower rooms) (protection IP X4D, splash-proof).
&
When instal ling Vitopend in wet areas, observe the safety areas
and minimum wall clearances according to VDE 0100 or local
regulations.
&
Electrical equipment must be installed in rooms containing a
bath tub or a shower so that persons cannot be exposed to dan-
gerous body currents.
&
The Vitopend may be installed in area 1, if hosed water (e.g.
through massage showers) is excluded.
&
VDE 0100 specifies that cables to supply permanently installed
consumers in areas 1 and 2 may only be routed vertically and
fed into the appropriate device from the back.
