Overview

The Vision SB-800P is a soundbar loudspeaker designed for various audio applications, offering both line-level and speaker-level input options for flexible integration with different display types. It is suitable for installation on a wall or beneath a screen, providing enhanced audio output for presentations, video conferencing, or general media consumption.

Function Description:

The SB-800P functions as an amplified soundbar, capable of receiving audio signals from various sources and delivering clear, powerful sound. It features a built-in amplifier, allowing it to directly accept line-level audio signals from devices such as laptops or phones via a 3.5mm minijack or 2-Phono (RCA) inputs. Alternatively, it can bypass its internal amplifier and accept a more powerful speaker-level signal from a flat-panel display that has its own built-in amplifier. This dual input capability makes it highly adaptable to different system configurations. The soundbar is designed to be a compact and aesthetically pleasing audio solution, especially when paired with flat-panel displays.

Usage Features:

  • Input Flexibility: The soundbar offers both line-level and speaker-level inputs. For line-level signals (e.g., from a laptop headphone jack), users can connect via the 3.5mm minijack or RCA inputs. For speaker-level signals (e.g., from a flat-panel display with a built-in amplifier), the Phoenix-type speaker input is used, bypassing the soundbar's internal amplifier.
  • Volume Control: When using line-level inputs, the volume can be adjusted via a dial located on the underside of the unit. Turning the dial anticlockwise until it clicks will turn the unit off. When using speaker-level inputs, volume control is typically managed by the display's remote control, and the soundbar's internal amplifier is bypassed, eliminating the need for a separate power connection to the soundbar in this mode.
  • Installation Options: The SB-800P can be installed in two primary ways:
    • Wall Mounting: Brackets are provided to securely mount the soundbar directly onto a wall.
    • Under Screen Mounting: Mounting strips (700mm) are included to hang the soundbar beneath a flat-panel display. This involves laying the display on a viewing surface, positioning the soundbar, fixing the mounting strips to the soundbar, and then aligning the strips with the display's mounting holes before fixing the wall mount ears to the display and hanging it.
  • Power LED: An indicator light on the underside of the unit shows the power status.
  • Input Selector: A switch on the rear panel allows users to select between line-level and speaker-level inputs.
  • Safety Warnings: The manual emphasizes important safety precautions, including avoiding exposure to moisture, handling the power cord with care, and proper placement to prevent hazards. It also warns against connecting speaker-level signals to line-level inputs.

Maintenance Features:

  • Packaging Retention: Users are advised to save all original packing material. This is crucial for safe shipping if the unit ever requires repair, as damage in transit will not be covered by warranty if original packaging is not used.
  • Troubleshooting: In case of abnormal smell or smoke, users should immediately turn off and unplug the product and contact their reseller or Vision.
  • Recycling: The product is compliant with WEEE standards, and users are instructed to return it to the place of purchase for recycling at the end of its useful life.
  • Warranty: The SB-800P comes with a lifetime return-to-base warranty, covering component failure and initial damage if reported within 24 hours of purchase. For DOA (dead on arrival) products, users have 21 days from the purchase date to notify the national distributor. The warranty does not cover faults caused by abuse, misuse, incorrect installation, unstable or faulty power input, or modification. Vision aims for a 5-working-day turnaround for replacement items. Support can be requested via the Vision website.
