23. Inspect/Replace impeller
wheel in the seawater pump
and in the bilge/scavenging
pump where fitted.
Note. Does not apply to centrifugal type
seawater pumps.
24. Check/replace zinc anodes.
Note. Replacement interval dependant on local
conditions.

oil is leaking out.

Close the sea cock and drain the water from the freshwater system.
Warning! Hot engine coolant can cause burns.
When only 50% of the anodes remains they must be replaced. A good
electrical contact is vital. Also replace the zinc anode on the reverse gear
oil cooler.
Check all connections and check for leaks. Rubber hoses must not be
cracked or damaged. All hose clamps and connections must be tight.
Distilled water approx. 10 mm (0.4") over cell plates.
Undo the screws (A). It should be possible to depress the belts 10 mm
(0.4").
Check the belt(s) for wear. Belts which work in pairs should be replaced
at the same time.
