Failuretotakethenecessaryprecautions
whentheSTOPtelltaleisONcanresultin
automaticengineshutdownandthelossof
powersteering.Vehiclecrashcanoccur.
Theengineshutdownsystemwillautomaticallyderateorstoptheenginewhenoneormore
oftheconditionslistedbelowreachesacriticalstage:
•HighEngineCoolantTemperature(ECT)
•LowEngineOilPressure(EOP)
•LowEngineCoolantLevel(ECL)
•HighCrankcasePressure(CCP)
Whentheshutdownisactivated,thetelltalescomeonalongwithdisplaysymbolsandthe
buzzerisalsoactivated.Afterabrieftime,theengineshutsdown.Findasafeplacetopull
offtheroadassoonaspossible.
Aftertheenginehasbeenshutdownbythesystem,turntheignitionkeytotheOFF
position.Ifnecessary,theenginecanberestartedforabrieftimesothatthevehiclemaybe
pulledofftheroad.
Thealarmwillremainactivateduntilrepairshavebeenmadetocorrecttheproblemthat
causedtheshutdown.
CAUTION
Continuouslyrestartingtheengineonce
theshutdownsystemisactivemayresult
insevereenginedamage.
