Theaftertreatmenthydrocarbondosingsystemisapartoftheexhaustaftertreatmentsystem
andisusedtoincreasetheexhaustgastemperature(EGT)neededfortheaftertreatment
system.
Thedosingsystemallowsdieselfueltobeinjectedintotheexhaustsystemoftheengineto
increasetheamountofhydrocarbon(HC)released.
TheinjectedfuelwillincreasetheEGTbyoxidationofhydrocarbon.Anaftertreatment
dieseloxidationcatalyst(DOC)ismountedupstreamoftheaftertreatmentdieselparticulate
lter(DPF).Thiselevatedtemperatureisneededfortheaftertreatmentselectivecatalytic
reduction(SCR)systemandDPF.TheHC-systemshallbegovernedbytheenginecontrol
module(ECM).
Thedosingsystemhasinterfaceswithamostofthevehicle's,majorcontrolsystems
includingthefuelsystem,compressedairsystem,exhaustsystem,electricalsystem,control
systemandexternalmechanicalinterfaces.
