Check gudgeon / piston pin fit
Make sure that pin is not loose and that bore is not
oval.

Measure piston ring gap
Using an inv erted piston, insert rings in cylinde r one
at a
time. (This ensures that rings take up correct posi-
tion.)
Measure ring gap
15 mm (0.6 in) from lower ed ge of
cylinde r.
Use a feeler gauge.

Clean and check connecting rods
Check for weaT, cracks etc. Also check threads.
Check gudgeon/piston pin fit
Pin must be push fit in small end.

connecting rod on a hard lev el surface. Tap stud
out with a plastic mall et.
