5.3 Operating the Generator
Switch
position
Leave the engine start switch (g) in the ON (first) position while the generator is
operating.
Allow the generator to operate for a few minutes to warm the engine before closing
the main circuit breaker.
While the generator is operating, check for excessive vibration, oil leaks, or coolant
leaks.

Possibility of unexpected equipment startup.
f Disconnect all attached electrical devices before starting the machine.
f Before closing breakers, make sure that any electrical devices attached down-
stream from the generator will not start up unexpectedly.
