Why is the Waeco CoolMatic HDC-160 cooling capacity dropping and the interior temperature rising?
    • T
      Tammy OsborneAug 10, 2025
A drop in cooling capacity and a rise in interior temperature in your Waeco Refrigerator can occur for several reasons. The vaporiser may be iced over, requiring defrosting. Insufficient cooling area insulation (moist/wet) may also be the cause, so adjust or replace the door seal. High ambient temperature or insufficient ventilation (move the refrigerator) can also contribute to this issue. Other potential causes include a dirty condenser (clean the condenser), a defective fan (if installed, replace the fan), or an exhausted battery capacity (charge the battery).

How to fix the interior temperature if it is too low in control setting “1” in my Waeco Refrigerator?
    • W
      William DavidAug 20, 2025
If the interior temperature of your Waeco Refrigerator is too low on control setting “1”, it could be due to the thermostat sensor not making contact with the vaporiser; in this case, secure the sensor. Alternatively, there may be a short circuit in the thermostat line or the thermostat may be defective, requiring you to change the thermostat.

Why is my Waeco CoolMatic HDC-160 compressor not running?
    • B
      Bryan GonzalezOct 31, 2025
Several factors can prevent your Waeco Refrigerator compressor from running. It could be due to an interrupted connection between the battery and the electronics – in this case, you should establish a connection. Other potential causes include a defective main switch (if installed), which would require replacement; a blown additional supply line fuse (if installed), which also requires replacement; or a battery voltage that is too low, meaning you should charge the battery. Also check for loose cables or corrosion, and re-establish any faulty connections. The battery capacity might be too low, requiring a battery replacement, or the cable cross section might be insufficient, so you should replace the cable. In some cases, the ambient temperature may be too high, ventilation may be insuffic...
