  If your Wen Portable Generator engine won't start, there are several potential causes. First, ensure the engine switch is set to ON. Check if the choke is closed. Make sure the generator has enough fuel and that the fuel isn't old or contaminated; if it is, drain the tank and refill with fresh fuel. If using electric start, the battery may be out of power or too cold; try using the recoil start or storing the generator in a warmer place. Also, check the oil level, as the engine won't start if it's too low. Finally, inspect the spark plug for dirt or damage, and clean or replace it as needed. If the carburetor is air locked, remove the nut from the bottom of the carburetor, take off the carburetor to allow it to reset, then replace the carburetor and reinstall the nut.

  If your Wen Portable Generator runs but provides no electrical output, the circuit breaker may have tripped due to an overload. Disconnect all loads, wait two minutes, and push the circuit breaker to the ON position to reset it. Also, check the power and extension cords for damage and replace them immediately if needed. Finally, try connecting a different device to rule out a faulty electrical device.

  If your Wen Portable Generator runs but doesn't support all connected electrical devices, it might be overloaded. To resolve this, turn off and unplug all electrical devices, then turn off the generator. Wait a few minutes, restart the generator, and try connecting only a few electrical loads. Also, check for short circuits in any of the connected devices and disconnect any faulty loads. The air filter may be dirty, so clean or replace it.

How to stop Wen 56480iX Portable Generator engine from fluctuating (hunting)?

  To address engine "hunting" (fluctuating RPM) in your Wen Portable Generator, turn off the generator and allow it to cool down. Check if the fuel is flowing properly through the fuel valve. Inspect the air filter for blockages and clean it if necessary. Also, check the spark arrestor for blockages and clean it with a metal brush if needed. Consider using a "Gunk remover" spray on the carburetor jets.
