How to fix a Wen Generator when the engine will not start?
    • A
      Amanda HickmanAug 1, 2025
If your Wen Generator's engine won't start, it could be due to several reasons. First, ensure the engine switch is in the “CHOKE” position. Other potential causes include contaminated or old fuel (replace the fuel), insufficient oil in the crankcase (add or replace oil), a dirty air cleaner (clean or replace it), or a dirty or broken spark plug (clean or replace it). Also, make sure the generator is on a level surface. If the generator was tilted when adding oil, remove the spark plugs, turn off the engine switch, and pull the recoil starter four times. If none of these work, the engine may need a professional tune-up.

What to do if my Wen Generator cannot support all electric devices connected?
    • K
      krowlandAug 5, 2025
If your Wen Generator can't support all connected electrical devices, the issue might stem from a faulty device. Try using a different device to see if that resolves the problem. Also, the generator may be overloaded. If the overload light is on, turn off and unplug all electrical devices, shut down the engine, and then try connecting devices one at a time. A short circuit in one of the connected devices might also be the problem, so try disconnecting any loads that seem faulty.

Why is there blue smoke in the exhaust of my Wen Generator?
    • J
      John WhiteAug 10, 2025
If you notice blue smoke in the exhaust of your Wen Generator, it could be due to not enough oil in the crankcase or because the generator is inclined, causing oil to enter where it shouldn't. Add or change the oil, and move the generator to a level position. Another cause might be that the generator was tilted when adding oil or during shipping. In that case, move the generator to a level position.

What to do if the overload light is on for Wen Portable Generator?
    • A
      Annette PhillipsAug 13, 2025
If the overload light is on, it means your Wen Portable Generator is overloaded or there's a short in one of the connected devices. Here's what to do: 1. Turn off and unplug all electrical devices. 2. Disconnect all electrical devices. 3. Shut down the generator. 4. Wait several minutes. 5. Restart the engine. If that doesn't work, try disconnecting any faulty devices to find short-circuited electrical loads.

Why my Wen Portable Generator runs but does not support all electrical devices?
    • K
      Katrina JacksonAug 22, 2025
If your Wen Portable Generator runs but doesn't power all connected electrical devices, it might be due to a bad electrical device connected or bad connecting wires/cables. If using an extension cord, try a different one or try connecting a different device.

    • P
      Peter KingNov 17, 2025
Your Wen Portable Generator might not start due to several reasons: * The engine switch might be in the “OFF” position. Set it to the “CHOKE” position. * The fuel could be contaminated or old. Change the fuel. * There might not be enough oil in the crankcase. Add or replace the oil. * The air cleaner could be dirty. Clean or replace it. * The spark plug might be dirty. Clean the spark plug. If it's broken, replace it. * The generator might not be on a level surface. Move it to a level surface to prevent low oil shutdown. * If the generator was tilted when adding oil, remove the spark plugs, turn off the engine switch, and pull the recoil starter four times to remove oil from the combustion chamber. If none of these steps work, it may need maintenance. Get a professional eng...
