How to fix a Wen DF250i that will not start?
    • K
      Kelly ChavezJul 29, 2025
If your WEN Portable Generator engine won't start, first ensure the 2-in-1 dial switch is correctly positioned: set it to CHOKE if the engine is cold, or RUN if it's warm. Also, check that the engine switch is set to ON (I) for recoil start or START (II) for electric start. If using LPG, prime the engine. Other potential issues include low oil (add oil), lack of fuel (add fuel), or contaminated fuel (drain and replace). A dirty or broken spark plug (clean or replace) could also be the culprit. For propane models, make sure the propane tank is turned ON.

What to do if my Wen DF250i runs but has no electrical output?
    • B
      Brian LoweryAug 2, 2025
If your WEN Portable Generator runs but provides no electrical output, the circuit breaker may have tripped due to an overload. Turn off and unplug all electrical devices, wait 5 minutes, then press the circuit breaker to reset it. Check the wattage of your devices and reduce the load if it exceeds the generator's capacity. Also, inspect your power and extension cords for damage, replacing any damaged cords immediately. Try connecting a different device to rule out issues with the connected device.

Why does my Wen DF250i run but not support all electrical devices?
    • M
      margaret52Aug 8, 2025
If your WEN Portable Generator runs but doesn't support all connected devices, it might be overloaded. Turn off and unplug all devices, wait 5 minutes, and then reset the circuit breaker. Reduce the load by using fewer devices or devices with lower power requirements. A short circuit in one of the connected devices can also cause this issue, so try disconnecting any potentially faulty devices. Additionally, a dirty air filter can affect performance; clean or replace the air filter.

      Pamela ArellanoAug 12, 2025
If the electric start on your WEN Portable Generator isn't working, the battery may be out of power or too cold. Try starting the generator using the recoil start to charge the battery. If the battery is too cold, store the generator or battery in a warmer location.
